1. Quality Assurance Event April 21st 10AM-12PM
Dallas Miller will be running the event. He said that the quality assurance part should be about 45 min. We will then break into a Boer goat group, dairy goat group, and sheep group. Kurt Schnipke, a certified dairy goat judge and breeder, will help the dairy goat group. And Dallas will be with the Boer. They will go over selection, showing, nutrition, ect. Both Dallas and Kurt are free of charge. We need to check to make sure this will be an approved QA event for Allen County. The Rabbit Barn will be available to do this. The rabbit hutches are not set up so there is plenty of room and bleachers.
Things that still need to be done for this:
Mya Gossard: Printing off flyers for the event. Please include date, time. Also contact Nichole to see what our website name is and see if you could put her phone number on the flyer too.
Anna Burkholder is checking to see what building this will be in and if Dallas needs us to supply anything for him.
Checking with Karinda Miller to see if she could find 4-5 dairy goats for showmanship.
Calling the sheep assoc. to see what they would like to help with.
Everyone: Check about finding things to put in our raffle. We will be getting items to put in a ticket raffle for the Quality Assurance event to help our association raise money.
2. T-Shirts.
Trevor checked on T-shirt prices and for 50 shirts with writing on the front only they would be $8 a shirt. Nichole had an idea of putting No Goats No Glory with hoof prints on the front along with our association name some wear on the shirt. We had also talked about sponsors to put on the back of the shirts to help with costs. Our goal is to have some of these available at the QA event to help raise money and have shirts for the members to wear.
Things that still need to be done for this.
Sue Steiner: Checking with Sports Wear House in Bluffton on prices of shirts. Just front and front and back.
Nichole Goble is checking on prices also.
Our next meeting will be Feb. 25th at 9:00 we will go over final touches of the QA event and talk about routs of advertising.

Members present:
Anna Burkholder, Doug Ditto, Nichole Goble, Kristen Gossard, Leeanna McKamey, David Pletcher, Ian Slone, Trevor Slone.
Discussed having a Quality Assurance clinic. Dates available at the fairgrounds were either April 21st or April 28th. Time from 9-12. Topics to be included are Quality Assurance, clipping, showmanship, nutrition, and selection. Anna will check with Dallas Miller who runs these clinics to see if he is available. She will also check to see if we can find a dairy goat person to do separate stations for fitting, selection, and showing. Anna will also check with the Sheep Association to see if this is something they would like to go in with us on to help raise numbers of 4-Hers attending and lower cost. We also talked about a food booth during the clinic if aloud.
We talked about having a sanctioned ABGA show again this year. The date that was available as of now was June 9th. We discussed having a breeding show as well as wether doe/buck breeding classes and a wether show. Leeanna is checking into this date to make sure it works. If so we will discuss more at our next meeting. Bring any suggestions of sanctioned judges you may have.
We discussed any fundraisers to help raise money. A t-shirt drive was an option. If you have any ideas of any thing to put on the shirts please bring those to the next meeting or let Nichole know about it. Trevor is looking into price options for the shirts. To help with costs of the shirts it was also talked that we could have area business donate and we could put there names on the back of the shirt.
We also talked about adding an open Boer goat show to the Allen County fair for 2013. This would have to be on the Thursday of the fair. We also discussed renting a food trailer and selling goat sandwiches and drinks the week of the fair starting in 2013. This is only if we would be financially able to with the rent of the trailer and the spot at the fair.
Lastly we talked about giving premium money to the born and raised market classes and to the rate of gain animals. All other associations help with this expense at the fair.
Leeanna also said that if any of us would like to have our names on hand at the fair board office for contacts for people looking for 4-H projects to email her your name, breed of animal you have, and contact info.
Have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New year! Hope to see you at our next meeting that is as of now set for Jan. 21st 2011 at 9:00. Bring your friends! Membership fees are $10 a family.
